Okay, I'm not even playing with you...Hidan is THE blueprint. Like, every other favorite character I have ever had since first getting into Naruto has probably stemmed from my interest in Hidan in some way. He is like the patient zero to everything that I ever look for in a character. Hidan IS the moment.

Hidan is the original in my "absolutely abhorrent side villain" taste. I am a total sucker any villain that is introduced as this major, near unstoppable threat and is just so disgusting and deranged that it takes a concentrated effort to rid the world of their unabashed evil. Hidan relishes in violence; it is a fundamental part of his religion. His entire purpose in this world is purely to spread death and commit atrocities. His immortality means that he cannot be stopped in his carnage. He WILL kill you, and he WILL take great pleasure in doing so. The whole world needs to understand pain, and he wants nothing more than to share that pain, spiritually and physically. Baby's first sadomaso.

Actually, my fascination with kink culture was probably birthed by this freak. While he's definitely not as fetishistic as some of my other favs, the seeds were definitely planted with him.

Hidan has that perfect balance of creepy cute for me. He's a murderous psychopath, but when he's not drooling over the prospect of his next sacrifice, he's a total whiny brat. He's like a little kid sometimes in his behavior, even in his more macabe interests of looking for someone to fight and kill.
